Two people hugging-Resource Organization Recovery

We’re on a mission:

Disrupt the narrative of addiction with us and find the support necessary to make a bigger impact in recovery support today

Recovery Organization Resources:

We Help You Establish A Deeper Connection To The Recovery Communities That Need You The Most

On any given day, nearly 21 million Americans have at least one addiction, yet only 10% (2.1 million) receive treatment. Drug overdose deaths have also tripled since 1990. Instead of recovery support systems getting better, the numbers show they are actually getting worse. Society has also stigmatized substance use disorders, mental illness, opioid addiction, and drug use to the point that it has become challenging for people to not only ask for help, but to also maintain a successful path to recovery.

Recovery Organization Resources (ROR) was founded with the primary goal of ensuring that all communities, regardless of their sexual orientation, spiritual, ethnic, cultural or socioeconomic background, receive dignified and accessible resources to help them on their journey to recovery. Data and research has shown that when recovery support systems do not individually address a person’s background, the recovery system fails those individuals.

What’s become far too common in recovery are punitive approaches that often dehumanize and further isolate the very people it sets out to help. ROR believes that there are many different pathways to recovery and that no one solution can provide results for all. We actively work to address many of the gaps in the recovery community - from housing, equitable access to various treatment options, cultural education, legislation, and more. By partnering with recovery organizations - both national and local - we develop programming that delivers recovery solutions that serve the individual needs of our most diverse and at-risk communities.

Our work with you will be aimed at restoration. We work with you to ensure your recovery support organization becomes a safe haven for those with substance use disorders and a place where their whole selves are embraced and nurtured. ROR uses research findings from The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and the lived experiences of individuals in recovery to provide you with recommendations and guidance that will help accomplish your goals.

Why Collaborate With Us?

We provide a liberated and supportive environment that listens to your organization’s challenges and needs. The voices of your community members are important to us and we center their experiences to develop a recovery support strategy for you that will address your concerns as well as the restorative needs of the communities you serve. We use our resources to create an atmosphere of humility and understanding that allows you to build recovery programs that establish equality and equitable pathways to recovery for every community you serve.

Empower Our Communities With Educational Resources

ROR provides information for individuals seeking to learn more about substance use disorder and recovery support systems. ROR believes in SAMHSA’s working definition of recovery which encompasses a process of change through which individuals improve their health and wellness, live a self-directed life, and strive to reach their full potential. Through the information we provide, we want organizations and individuals to come together to help make changes in our society so we no longer fail those with substance use disorders.

Advocate for Individuals At All Phases of Recovery

ROR is dedicated to using our platform and resources to advocate for bills and legislation that are in support of the needs of all facing substance use disorder. Only by creating a culture that creates equitable access to successful recovery support for all, can we create systems that foster change in our communities.

Translate Scientific Findings Into Usable Resources

As new scientific information is released, it can be difficult for recovery organizations to act upon it due to the dense way the information is presented. ROR works diligently to understand these findings and will then create digestible articles with actionable takeaways that organizations and individuals can easily understand and put into practice.
